Rice Krispies Masala

A easy and quick snack item.

  • Rice Krispies : 3 cups
  • Putnalu/Roasted Channa Dal : 1/4 cup
  • Roasted ground nuts : 1/4 cup
  • Onion : 1
  • Tomato : 1
  • Cilantro : 4 strings
  • Lemon juice : 2 Tb sp
  • Salt
  • Red Chili powder


  • Chop tomato, onion finely and keep aside.
  • Now in a mixing bowl, add onion, tomato, lemon juice, salt,red chili powder, roasted Channa Dal, ground nuts, rice krispies.Add in the same order as mentioned to get nice taste.
  • Mix well and garnish with chopped cilantro.

Crunchy, healthy snack is ready to serve.

Apple Preserve

Recently we went to apple picking.Lot of apples lying in refrigerator.Want to try some new recipe, found this one while browsing.Here is the recipe

  • Apples peeled and diced : 3 cups
  • Sugar : 1 cup
  • Lemon Juice : 1 1/2 t sp
  • Water : 2/3 cup
  • Saffron strings : 5


  • In a vessel, add water and sugar. Let it boil till the mixture is almost about one string consistency.
  • Now add diced apples and let it cook till water evaperates in it.
  • Add lemon juice and saffron strings and cook.

Let it become cool and store it in glass bottle and refrigerate.

Peppers fry

For this choose peppers which are mild spicy.I have used Anaheim green pepper.We can do this with Indian chilies as well.

  • Peppers: 1 lb
  • Salt
  • All ingredients of tadaka or talimpu
  • Besan floor
  • Oil


  • Wash and chop pepper.In a pan, add oil and prepare tadaka.
  • Now add peppers and fry well till spiciness comes down.
  • Now add salt, besan and fry well.

Serve with rice and ghee.
