Channa dal chutney

  • Channa dal or roasted Channa Dal : 1 cup
  • Red chilies : 5
  • Tamarind juice : 2t sp
  • Coconut powder or peices : 1/4th cup
  • Ginger
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • All ingredients of talimpu


  • Take a kadai .Add 2 tb sp of oil and put channa dal and fry channa dal and red chillies if you are using normal channa dal.If roasted channa dal means no need of frying again.
  • Take off from the heat and let it cool for some time.
  • In mixer first add red chilies,ginger and grind.Now add channa dal and grind for 3 sec.Now add tamarind juice, coconut powder,salt ,water and grind once again.
  • Take this to serving bowl and and add talimpu to it.

Serve this with idli or dosa.
